Plan a Post COVID Quarantine Pool Opening Party

As the weather heats up and the COVID quarantine starts coming to an end, many people are anxious to open their pools and throw a fun pool party for family and friends. After being isolated for so long, it’s only natural that people will want to get together for some fun by the pool. A pool opening party can be done once authorities say it’s safe to return to normal activities, but it’s still important to take precautions. Many of the recommended precautions are available on the CDC website. Here’s how you can safely plan a pool opening party post COVID quarantine:

Limit the Amount of People

Try to keep the number of people at your party to a minimum in order to avoid crowded spaces and minimize potential exposure. A small party should be relatively safe if you take the necessary precautions, but parties where people are crowded together are best avoided.

Don’t Bring People Who are “At-Risk”

It’s best to keep higher risk populations safe and away from crowds to avoid possibly exposing them to germs. The CDC has some valuable resources on who is at higher risk from COVID-19, including people over 65 and people with certain serious pre-existing conditions.

Encourage Proper Hygiene

Make sure to encourage everyone to cough and sneeze into their elbow, wash their hands frequently, don’t shake hands, and touch their faces as little as possible. Also, encourage people who feel sick to stay at home. This will help to minimize any risk of exposure to viruses that may exist.

Supply Protective Equipment if Possible

If you can, supply your guests with face masks, hand sanitizer, trash baskets, and cleaners or surface disinfectants. That will help everyone stay as safe as possible throughout the party.

Encourage Social Distancing

By encouraging partygoers to keep about 6 feet of distance between each other, you can help reduce their risk of exposure and keep them safer.

To plan a post COVID quarantine pool opening party may be a little trickier than normal. But, it still can be a fun time for everyone involved. Getting together with the people you love and having some outdoor fun by the pool is a great way to get back into the normal swing of life and let loose. After so much time spent isolated at home avoiding people, it will be great to finally see some of those friendly faces again. Just be sure to take some precautions when planning your party to keep it safe and healthy for everyone involved.
